At First Glance

I’ve threatened to do this for quite some time and finally got forced off my ass to do something about it. So for the next three months I have a selection of both photographic and illustrative works up in the Corporate Culture showroom, 680 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. It’s a beautiful space that has been exceptionally renovated and presented. My works are scattered over all four floors, so if you’re out that side of town please drop by and take a look… Thanks – Chris

Behind the Scenes

Lisa Tomasetti presents a series of images of the Australian Ballet, having been granted exclusive access to photograph the Ballet over several years on their international tours to Tokyo, New York, and Paris. Taken out of their usual context the Ballerina’s dance, pirouette and leap through the gritty city streets, as Tomasetti creates riveting images that fuse high gloss performance with coarse urban reality.

These works are available through James Makin Gallery

Unreal Estate

David Wadelton currently has two bodies of work on display in Melbourne, photographs as part of a group show at the University of Melbourne’s Ian Potter Gallery and a solo show of both paintings and photography at Tolarno Gallery.

First We Fall

Firstly, thank you and congratulations to Clare Plueckhahn, Fran Derham and Sarah Ewing for helping produce and put on such a great opening night for Clare’s show of underwater stills, “First We Fall”. Thanks also go out to all the people who managed to make it down for the night and all the sponsors who generously provided food (Fonda) and booze to keep everybody going.

That’s a link heavy post.

Keep an eye out for further upcoming exhibitions later in the year.

51-57 Cubitt St Cremorne – Progress shots

After nearly a decade in Prahran it is time to pack up and move. Developers have bought the building and are tearing it down to make way for apartments.

We have secured a new premises in Cremorne (Richmond) just up the road. Fini Frames will be back under the same roof again after two years of us having all the manufacturing out in the burbs. Please keep an eye on this space… New digs coming very soon!

Down by the River

These photographs were for part of a survey show of Andrews works at Gippsland regional gallery. He has a show on at Tolarno Galleries now though which includes paintings derived from these photographs. I think the paintings are stunning, please do yourself a favour and take a look. The show runs from the 18.08.12
